CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

Delta Construction Partners is a national executive search firm for the nation s premier general, mechanical, and electrical contractors and industry professionals. Delta has been retained by a confidential client to conduct a search for the position of Estimator in Tampa, FL.


Estimator Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary for the Estimator is $140,000 per year, and total compensation including benefits, allowances, and bonus far exceeds the stated salary for this role.

Estimator Duties & Responsibilities:Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.

  • Lead or Perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including understanding scope and performing accurate quantity surveys.
  • Supervise and train other estimators in your primary area of expertise.
  • Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and qualifications.
  • Lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategy.
  • Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids.
  • Negotiate scopes of work with subcontractors through mutual acceptance.
  • Assist in developing a strategy to achieve minority participation requirements.
  • Review total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation.
  • Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs.
  • Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods.
  • Engage in ongoing dialogue with Operations teams and visit construction sites for continual process improvement.
  • Prepare and present information to management and clients in a clear, concise manner.



Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or an equivalent degree highly preferred

  • 5-10 years of estimating experience for a GC on large ($50M+)
  • Proven experience with design/build and conceptual estimating.
  • Proven experience leading large teams on large pursuits.
  • Some field or project management experience in conjunction with estimating experience highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with conceptual and self-performing estimation.
  • Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
  • Advanced computer skills and demonstrable competency with estimating software.
