A leading, global aviation company is looking to bring on a Labor and Employment Counsel to join the team. This individual will provide support on employment law, traditional labor, and union affairs, report directly to the VP of Labor and Employment, and operate on a hybrid model.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with HR and management across various departments, providing legal guidance on employment law matters and labor relations.
- Conduct internal investigations on employee relations issues, prepare reports, and advise management accordingly.
- Draft and negotiate employment-related agreements such as severance packages, employment contracts, and NDAs.
- Support labor relations activities, including contract interpretation, grievance handling, and participation in union negotiations
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in employment and labor law
- Experience advising on employment law compliance, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and similar regulations, as well as handling labor disputes under collective bargaining agreements.
- Business-minded approach to legal counsel, balancing legal risks with business objectives.
- JD and active membership in a state bar
