Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer - Power Systems performs electrical power systems studies and analysis for industrialand utility clients. Utilizing industry standard analysis software (ETAP, SKM, etc.), the successfulcandidate will demonstrate the ability to create study cases, analyze results, and provide detailedwritten reports. A strong fundamental understanding of industrial and utility power systems andcalculation methods is required.
The Electrical Engineer - Power Systems is responsible for working with clients and other Nexus personnelto prepare studies including:
- System Short Circuit Studies
- Relay Coordination Studies
- Load Flow Analysis
- Power System Harmonics Analysis
- Motor Starting Studies
- Arc Flash Hazard Studies
- Relay Setting File Creation & Analysis
The Electrical Engineer - Power Systems reports to the Senior Electrical Engineer or Engineering DisciplineManager. Completed technical work is provided to senior management prior to presentation tothe client.
This position will require occasional travel (2-3 times per year) of up to one week to visit clientfacilities to gather data along with other Nexus personnel.
Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering is required.
Working knowledge of ETAP is required.
Familiarity with other systems analysis tools such as SKM is desired.
5+ Years of experience in power systems studies
Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office Products
Education/Certification Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasionalevening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
