Senior Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Specialist


Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior BSA Specialist to join our Compliance and Risk team at Bridgewater Bank. Reporting to the BSA Officer, the Senior BSA Specialist provides support in the development and administration of the Bank's BSA and OFAC compliance program. The Senior BSA Specialist leverages technology and maintains knowledge of regulatory changes/expectations related to job functions. Collaboration, communication, and training across all levels of the organization are critical to the Senior BSA Specialist position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Suspicious Activity Report reviews and prepare filings as assigned
  • Build quality control review scorecards and perform quality control reviews on junior BSA specialists
  • Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence monitoring and analysis activities associated with BSA and OFAC compliance, making risk-based decisions.
  • Lead escalation process as assigned
  • Leverage technology and implement technology enhancements
  • Respond to Bank BSA questions from staff
  • Train Bank staff on BSA and OFAC topics
  • Draft or revise procedures related to tasks performed
  • Serve on applicable regulatory and technology implementation teams
  • Back up as needed for other BSA and OFAC functions including:
    • Customer Due Diligence
    • Suspicious activity alerts and monitoring
    • Currency Transaction Reporting
    • Exemptions
    • Monetary Instruments
    • High risk questionnaires
    • 314(a)
    • HIDTA/HIFCA
    • Office of Foreign Assets
  • Maintain current knowledge of all applicable BSA and OFAC statutes, regulations, and interpretations


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 - 6 years of BSA experience
  • Prior experience working with BSA High Risk customers, preferably fintechs, third party payment processors, and money service businesses
  • CAMS or CFE preferred, or ability to obtain
  • Verafin experience preferred
  • Cannabis banking experience preferred
  • Prior experience leading a team preferred
  • Quality control SME experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking ability, and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
