Job Summary

Oversee a full team consisting of leads, full time shipping staff and temporary staff. Ensure proper training and policies and procedures are being followed by the associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Lead overall team to achieve operational goals and objectives.
  • Directly provide supervision and coaching for leads and team members.
  • Coordinate with other supervisors.
  • Manage team schedule, time off requests, Paycom adjustments and attendance standards.
  • Create and distribute all required reports.
  • Provide manager with daily updates regarding operational status.
  • Have a monthly team and one on one meeting with direct report to provide updates on error rate and ideas for continual process improvement.
  • Spend at least 85% of the day out on the floor assisting leads and employees in the pick and pack area. Be available to answer any questions regarding the process.
  • Assist the Manager and other Supervisors as assigned.
  • Copy IPD reports.
  • Interfaces with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
  • Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Enforces safety regulations.
  • Maintains an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be able to lift 15 to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a basic math and reading comprehension test

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form


Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment

  • Employee will be working in Warehouse environment, needing to wear sweatshirt or specific OSHA safety gear.


Safety Requirements

  • Employee is required to understand proper safety procedures before operating any equipment.
  • Employee may be required to be certified to use equipment.
  • Employee may be required to wear appropriate OSHA safety gear.
