The Mower County Sheriff s Office is accepting applications for the Deputy Sheriff position. This position is a full-time union position working 12-hour shifts. This position works weekends and holidays. Starting 2024 Wage is: $33.90 ~ $39.17/hour an additional $2.00/hr. between 5pm-7am and 40 /hr. on Sundays.
The Deputy Sheriff is responsible for conducting law enforcement activities to ensure public safety. Responsibilities may include responding to requests for assistance from the public; preventing traffic accidents and deterring violators; investigating accidents and criminal incidents; preparing incident reports; ensuring the security and order of the court; receiving, processing, recording, storing, maintaining and releasing evidence; and protecting crime scenes. It is of utmost importance that person s in this position conduct themselves in a manner both at work and outside of work in a manner that does not cause concern regarding their ability to be able to provide credible and effective testimony.
This position requires an Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate in Law Enforcement or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates are required to have Peace Officers Standards and Training License. A valid Minnesota Class D Driver s License is also required.
