The Prospect Research Analyst is responsible for a primarily research and data-driven role analyzing and documenting information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity and linkage to Saint Mary's College. The analyst will be a strong collaborator, comfortable and skilled at using prospecting databases, excited about gathering and synthesizing information as well as display a strong commitment to providing accurate, highly confidential and ethical information. The position will have a love of learning, a natural curiosity about data, focused, persistent in the pursuit of information, and a self-starter. The position will conduct confidential research reports and briefings, data tasks, maintain relevant current news of prospects, data integrity, and collaborate with the field fundraisers.

Job Description

The Prospect Research Analyst will identify new potential major gift donors by analyzing and documenting complex information to assess financial capability, philanthropic tendencies to help inform cultivation and solicitation strategies and to meet campus wide fundraising goals and objectives, and perform data entry to ensure that new and updated research is integrated into the CRM. Includes but not limited to connecting relationships, updating employment, degree, contact information and more.

The Prospect Research Analyst will identify and track the accomplishments and life events of alumni, friends, and donors as well as their interest and ability to provide support to Saint Mary's College, prepare detailed research briefings for the purpose of donor cultivation and solicitation efforts for senior leadership at the College, and monitor news and publicly available financial information on prospects from SEC filings, press releases, corporate disclosures, and news sources.

The Prospect Research Analyst will assist and collaborate with the director with list creation, analysis, and support of prospect management tasks and reporting, serve as a partner to field fundraisers providing relevant information to help facilitate strategy development, engagement, and solicitation, and collaborate with gift processing and alumnae relations staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Suggested areas might include business/finance, data science or library/information science.
  • Knowledge of general fundraising best practices and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar prospect research or analyst role.
  • Strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems through research techniques, data literacy, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data from various sources and present the information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Driven and passionate about working with data and energized when gathering, summarizing, organizing, and disseminating information.
  • Committed to accurate, complete, accessible and timely information.
  • Ability to use tact, discretion, and good judgment in working with confidential information
  • 4+ years of experience using computerized systems including proficiency in but not limited to: MS Word, Excel, CRM database knowledge as well as G Suite by Google (sheets/documents).
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines effectively.
  • Stays current on trends as they relate to prospect research.

Schedule

40 Hours/ 12 Months/ Monday - Friday
