Location Williamsburg - 830 Job Description Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. **ESH invites applications for the position of the Computer Equipment & Applications Specialist**

The purpose of this position is to provide overall direction and technical support for the maintenance and development of Information Technology and Security Systems for support of all hospital users. The equipment and applications specialist is responsible for supporting the facility in Computer Equipment management, managing basic network functions, Duress Systems support, Cell Booster Support, Digital Camera Systems support, equipment purchases, modifying system configurations, changing system/equipment specs, defining attached devices. This also includes Security system network administration, Networking of equipment, performance monitoring, and Lock hardware support. This position will manage the resources and budget necessary to maintain and support system growth. Support includes computers, printers, locally developed applications and the creation, suspension and deprovisioning of user accounts. Provides assistance and training for the use of computer hardware and software as needed. This position will also need general Information Technology knowledge.

***Please know that upon completion of the probationary period, the shift for this position will be 12:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday with rotating on-call (could include weekends) to meet the needs of the facility.***

**This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or facility need. All ESH positions are required to work different shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays, and/or overtime as requested.** Minimum Qualifications

* Experience in a wide variety of technologies to effectively support end-user technical needs including computing devices, operating systems, network technologies, printers and peripherals.

* Experience with a variety of software applications, (desktop, client-server, browser-based etc.).

* Experience with troubleshooting and analysis, power management equipment (software, hardware, printers/peripherals, mobile devices, etc.), personal duress systems, network equipment, etc.

* Experience with Access control equipment and troubleshooting techniques.

* Experience with Video Systems and surveillance systems.

* Extensive experience with TCP /IP networking, CCTV , systems administration, security, telecommunications and LAN design.

* Experience in troubleshooting, diagnose and computer repair, hardware and software problems in a complex networked environment.

* Experience in prioritizing work request and work occasional long hours.

* Experience in solving complex and/or unusual computer problems within site specifications given deadlines workloads.

Preferred Qualifications

* High School graduate and/or an Associates degree related to Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics or other related field.

* Prior experience in a hospital setting of work-related skill, knowledge, with experience in Security Systems, digital camera installs, configurations, and duress systems.

* Prior experience working with Access databases.

* Prior work experience with some or all of the following systems: Automated systems, personal computer and network technologies, databases, learning management systems, online learning tools, modems, CD/DVD drives, etc., a variety of software applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, email, Intranet, web browsers, HTML editors, and image manipulation software).
