Description:
The dishwasher's primary objective is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff. Must wash and clean
tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keep equipment clean and organized.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assumes 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware
Load, run and unload the industrial dishwasher
Wash glassware and other implements by hand when necessary
Handle tableware carefully to minimize breakage and loss
Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the kitchen manager
immediately.
Monitor dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
Empty and clean all trash receptacles
Bag and haul kitchen trash to dumpster.
Clean food preparation and production areas as required
Rotate dishes to reduce wear and tear on resources
Clean dish storage
Provide assistance to prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
Perform opening, closing and side work
Clean up spills or broken glassware immediately
Follow sanitation policies at all times
Report any mechanical, electrical, plumbing, sanitation or janitorial issues to appropriate parties
Qualifications
Must posses a positive attitude and work well with other team members
Be able to work positively under pressure in a fast paced time sensitive restaurant environment
No experience necessary, but must be willing to train.
Must be able to work unsupervised
Excellent critical thinking and time management skills
Ability to operate industrial machinery and frequently carry loads up to 20 lbs
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing to work in hot, humid environment and on your feet for 7-8-hour shifts
Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
Be willing to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed.
