Field Service Technician

We are currently seeking a Field Service Technician for servicing our packaging systems at our North American Niverplast customers. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for initial installation, machine setup and start-up, mechanical and electrical maintenance, and end user training on various types of automated packaging machines and lines including robotic packaging machinery.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Direct and Assist customer personnel in the installation. Configure and prepare new equipment for initial start-up.

Resolve technical problems and answer customers' queries. Repair or modify various networks and safety circuits.

Educate customers on the operation and maintenance of equipment.

Recommend the purchase of services or spare parts to customers.

Perform maintenance, prevention, and after-sale service and Document activities in daily reports.

Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot various packaging equipment.

Recommend ideas or changes to machines that will make them more reliable and efficient.

**Applicant must be comfortable with 75% travel**


Education/Experience & Qualifications:

Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience as a field service technician. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and be accountable for your individual results and their impact on your team.

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and good problem-solving skills and be able to interact efficiently with others and be customer service oriented.

Professional communication, attitude, and image. Potential to be a motivator/leader. Good verbal and written presentation - organized - good planner, good interpersonal skills. Highly developed Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting skills and strong mechanical and electrical understanding of industrial machinery.

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.

Advanced understanding of PLC programs, HMI screens and multi-axis robots, Motion Control, Vision Systems, SGV, AGV.

Multi- axis robot experience desirable. Vision guided robot experience desirable.

Required to use skills requiring motor coordination with finger dexterity, e.g., keyboarding, machine operation, use of hand and power tools in various crafts or trades for most of a workday.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally with minimal notice. Position requires frequent extended travel (up to 80%) including day trips, overnight trips, and trips lasting more than a week, often with little notice. To fully service our customer, Service Technicians may be required to travel and work weekends, and may be required to work a day, evening, or night shifts, based on customer requirement. Valid Driver's license required.

Ability to push, pull and lift 50 pounds. Ability to kneel, crouch and stoop. Ability to reach above and below the shoulders. Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull. Ability to climb a ladder and work above ground. Walking and stair climbing.
