Role Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directly overseeing and supervising the production floor employees and floor activities. The supervisor ensures proper flow of the assigned processes inclusive but not limited to Sanitation, Rendering, Refining / Deodorizing, Packaging, Shipping, Tank Farm, Inedible, Traffic Control and its employees along with general plant leadership.


The idea candidate will oversee safe and proper manufacturing of the company's products. In order to do this, the candidate will troubleshoot issues, ensure the efficient day to day operations of the company, and coordinating a team of production employees to make sure that consistent and quality goods are constantly being produced.

Responsibilities:


  • Active and proactive member of the Safety Circle Team, dedicated to fostering a safe work environment and ensuring the well-being of all employees. Administers Personal Protective Equipment to staff and monitors employee training and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Proficient in planning, prioritizing, and supervising tasks to achieve targeted business outcomes.
  • Establishes and refines organizational responsibilities and processes to optimize facility operations, promptly addressing issues with a sense of urgency.
  • Provides strategic vision to cultivate a High-Performance, Team-Based, Results-Oriented Organization in alignment with Corporate Vision and Strategy.
  • Collaborates effectively across all functional areas to drive operational excellence.
  • Ensures pre and post-operational standards are met before start-up and shutdown, modifying processes as necessary to ensure continued success.
  • Oversees equipment functionality across all processes using Lean Manufacturing strategies, including monitoring temperature levels and facilitating troubleshooting activities.
  • Reviews production documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established requirements.
  • Leads meetings to communicate operational metrics, drive performance improvement, and inspire positive change.
  • Investigates problem areas, identifies potential solutions, and allocates resources accordingly, including conducting root cause analysis, completing reports promptly, and addressing action items.
  • Manages work requests and provides clear instructions or solutions to relevant personnel.
  • Coordinates laboratory sampling and analysis, ensuring compliance with Corporate, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Holds team members and oneself accountable to standards, policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of process materials to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Recommends and supports the implementation of operational goals and objectives, striving to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participates in the selection and development of plant operation staff, coordinates training initiatives, and fosters employee motivation and engagement in alignment with company values and culture.
  • Conducts effective performance management through regular feedback, coaching, and formal annual performance reviews.
  • Monitors and controls pest management efforts as necessary.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications:


Any combination of education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, typically:

  • Bachelor s Degree highly preferred, High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years related experience in retail or bulk manufacturing
  • Lean / Six Sigma experience a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

  • Office and plant setting. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts.
