**Description**
**JOB DESCRIPTION:**Supervises team members safely and efficiently in order to produce quality food pet foods that comply with all government regulations and corporate guidelines. The Supervisor establishes a safe, results oriented culture that includes clear performance expectations and measures with a strong emphasis on accountability and development.
**ESSENTIAL TASKS:**
* Engage employees and establish and communicate department expectations, objectives, and deliverables, including key measures. Develop a strong culture of accountability where employees are actively engaged, contributing ideas, championing programs, processes and practices.
* Supervise production and warehouse operations, including safe, efficient manufacturing of quality products to serve our customers on time in full within budget; work closely with plant scheduler to develop production schedule.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process/procedure optimization and improvements, including safety (personal and food), capacity, cost, energy, maintenance and reliability, etc.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with Alphia, federal, state and local regulations, policies, procedures, HACCP, GMP's, etc.
**SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:**
* College degree preferred
* 5 to 7 years supervisory experience, preferably in a food processing environment
* Demonstrated strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
* Demonstrated experience leading and influencing change; developing a strong culture of accountability and engagement
* Must have demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
* Must be able to work flexible hours, including some weekend work as assigned
* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
* Basic knowledge of OSHA, Food Safety, Safety, and Environmental regulations
* Pre-employment drug test and background check required.
**Work Environment:**
* Candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and skills test. Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
* Job performed in a manufacturing environment. Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including appropriate safety equipment apply.
* While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to sit for prolonged periods, climb stairs, climb ladders and walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day.
* The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.
* Must have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms.
* Strength: Must have the ability to lift 20 pounds with regularity.
* Must be able to understand and follow work instructions in English
