Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

Primary Responsibilities:
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut
Operates and observes machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly
Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines and equipment and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance
Develops specifications from general descriptions and draws sketches of parts or products to be fabricated
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems

Required Experience & Skills for a Machinist
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 7- 10 years verifiable related experience
Proficient MS Office Suite experience and skills
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Excellent math skills as related to the tool making role is a must
Understand machine and cutting tool concepts, applications, and feeds/speeds
Set up and operate machining equipment
Experience with running and programming both CNC and manual mills, lathes, manual grinders, and cut off saws
Team Center and Costpoint operation experience
Knowledge of Solid Edge Cad system
Ability to obtain and maintain an ATF Processor license
