Position: Millwright

Location/s: Ashland, VA

Duration: 3 months contract (possible to convert depending on performance)

Starting Pay: Up to $24.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift (5 days a week; 10 hours a day + Saturday 6-8 hours)

Overview:

Seeking an experienced Millwright to install, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment. Welding experience is a valuable asset for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Install, dismantle, and relocate machinery and equipment as required.
    • Perform various tasks like hooking up electronics, hydraulics, and building gearboxes.
    • Commission or decommission machines as necessary.
    • Conduct routine maintenance to ensure machinery operates optimally.
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, implementing effective solutions.
    • Utilize welding skills for repairs and fabrication as needed.
    • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines.
    • Follow safety protocols and maintain a tidy work environment.
    • Document all work performed, including repairs and maintenance.
Skills and Education Requirements:
    • Proven Millwright experience in an industrial environment.
    • Proficient in building, tearing down, and rebuilding mechanical components.
    • Welding certification and hands-on experience with various techniques (MIG, TIG, stick, flux-core) is advantageous.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
    • Familiarity with a range of tools and equipment.
    • Committed to workplace safety and following safety protocols.
    • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
    • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for maintenance shutdowns.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship program or equivalent training is preferred.
    • Welding certification or relevant experience is a bonus.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
    • Must pass a criminal background check (7-year felony + sex offender)
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug test (10 panels for recreational drugs and opiates)
