** Job Description**
**Responsibilities**
**nwyck Hospital** is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults.
It is the ultimate goal of our dedicated staff to build strength, confidence and knowledge within each patient, in hopes that they may continue learning and understanding their needs and practicing self-care for the rest of their lives.
**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Under the guidance of the Director of Dietary Services, is responsible for overall supervision in the kitchen, dining areas and special events. These areas will be operated within established objectives, standards, policies, and procedures. Assists in the maintenance of sound inter-departmental relations and the integration of the dining service department with the facility plan of operation.
**DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:**
* Assisting in providing quality food and an enjoyable dining experience for patients, guests, and staff.
* Directly supervising all service personnel during the meal period.
Supervising hiring, orientating, training, evaluating, and counseling of all service personnel in accordance with the personnel policies of the facility. Promoting the professional growth and development of all staff.
* Supervising staff in compliance of all job duties and cleaning tasks.
* Conducting morning meetings for all service staff, to ensure that all departmental standards are being upheld.
* Conducting and documenting weekly meetings with all food production and service personnel per standard
Circulating in the dining area during meal periods to field patients comments pertaining to service and food quality. Immediately attempts to correct problems in these areas.
Coordinating and ensuring that any cash controls are in place in areas where cash is handled. Participates in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of cost programs, as assigned.
* Coordinating and following through with all special functions as required.
* Implementing programs to improve service for the patients and staff thus enhancing the program.
* Maintaining control over menu needs, communicating these needs to the Director.

**Qualifications**
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
* Associates degree or advanced degree from an accredited institution preferred.
* One year experience in the food service operations of a hospital preferred.
* Knowledgeable in activities in the areas of patient food service and nutritional care required.
* Must maintain Serve Safe Certification.
