System Administrator


Job Details

Brooksource is hiring a Systems Administrator who is responsible for complex support of our client s information technology, applications and servers, which includes analysis, installation, testing, maintenance, operations, planning, response to service outages, and other problems. This position ensures the integration of various elements of technology so that they function effectively for end users. The Systems Administrator work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Systems Administrator maintains and monitors software and servers ensuring proper administration of software licensing and updates. The position may configure, maintain, and monitor security access control systems. The position may work with the disaster recovery function in planning and coordinating business continuity efforts, including backup and restoration of data and ensuring high systems availability. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • degree
  • years of corporate IT experience with general networking and server knowledge
  • knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Access
  • knowledge of PowerShell Scripting
  • be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

This role responds to user complaints and researches problems associated with the organization's telecommunications networks (voice and/or data). The Telecomm/Voice Administrator 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

This role diagnoses problem source through discussions with users; co-ordinates with internal support and operations groups or with vendors to resolve problems. Requires an understanding of technical aspects of telecommunications equipment and systems and vendor capabilities. Also responsible for processing move/add/change requests pertaining to telephone systems. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
