Job Type Full-time Description Tramec Continental-Aero is currently seeking a buyer. For your convenience, office options include either our Elk Grove Village, Illinois location or Alsip, Illinois location.
The Buyer is responsible for processing purchase requisitions from the various department managers and ERP system. Additionally, the Buyer would be responsible for creating purchase orders, sending RFQs for all high-cost items and all production material orders, as well as evaluating supplier quotes through price / cost analysis and select the source that provides the lowest cost of ownership without jeopardizing quality or safety within the company. Conduct price negotiations with suppliers to ensure that the Tramec Engineered Components gets the best value for qualified parts and services.

Essential Job Functions:
The buyer will work with inventory to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the delivery due date on purchase orders and reporting if there are any known disruptions to cause late delivery.
Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy and completion
Collaborate with department managers to clarify purchase requisitions, identify needs, and refine specifications for future purchase orders
Follow proper channels to obtain purchase authorization according to company policy
Orders and expedites various commodities as needed to support forecast and customer demands
Resolves quality, pricing, and delivery issues with parts from suppliers wherever possible.
Solicits quotes from existing/new suppliers for production parts or services as required
Negotiates prices and delivery terms with guidance from purchasing supervision.
Maintains purchasing computer files, i.e., pricing supplier list, purchase order detail, etc.
Processes quote requests from various departments to ensure supplier compliance with established PPAP procedures.
Reviews price discrepant invoices and corrects internal records as required.
Investigates new sources of supply as required and maintains required supplier data.
Assist planner with inventory and with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis.
Demonstrate knowledge of standard concepts and practices of Purchasing
Responsible for working in accordance with our documented Quality System, and for ensuring that products and services meet the customers specified requirements.
May be required by Management to perform other reasonable work-related tasks.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred. Ability to work independently. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and suppliers.
