Job Summary

This position will provide administrative support to approximately 20 faculty in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) within the College of Engineering. Assist with course responsibilities such as exam preparation, seating assignments, and utilizing Brightspace and other course related software (e.g. Gradescope, Piazza.) Provide additional support to faculty efforts in conference and other technical materials. Make travel arrangements and submit reimbursements using the Concur system. Arrange seminars and workshops and itineraries for prospective faculty candidates, including meetings with faculty, luncheons, hotel arrangements, and transportation. Provide support for faculty search committees and coordinate faculty interviews. Serve as backup to other administrative assistants in ECE.

What We Are Looking For

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a clerical or administrative support role

Skills:
Required:
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and
  • maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,
  • Internet, etc.
  • Typing, drafting, filing, data entry, proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to identify routine problems and implement or recommend solutions
