Database Developers at Tyndale develop and maintain the various database systems and partners with technical stakeholders on IT projects utilizing strong MS SQL experience. Designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance as well as tying payments and inventory transactions as a first line troubleshooter for our accounting module are key tasks. You ll optimize in-application SQL statements as necessary and establish best practices. Preventing and solving database usage issues to avoid problems in the future makes a successful developer within our creative IT team. Tyndale utilizes custom catalogs, pricing, payment, and invoicing solutions.


HYBRID/REMOTE: Tyndale supports a strong work-life balance. This opportunity requires onsite work a minimum of 1 day per week, and 4 days per week remotely. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance from our Tyndale headquarters in Pipersville, PA (Bucks County) or our location in Houston, TX.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, create, modify and remove database objects (tables, views, indexes, keys, stored procedures, functions, DB links, etc.) to support development projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future database products and services.
  • Work with software developers to establish best practices for database storage and organization.
  • Data expert for migrating data from existing applications and database environments to new architecture.
  • Document database structure and dependencies (ER Diagrams)
  • Support Testing efforts from a database perspective.
  • Tying payments and inventory transactions to the GL
  • Timely response as a first line troubleshooter for MAS 500 Accounting module.
  • Respond to support requests for bugs & issues reported.
  • Maintain database objects in a software version control system.
  • Adhere to industry best practices & standards for Agile/Scrum Frameworks adopted by our organization; this includes (but is not limited to) daily stand-ups, grooming, planning, retrospectives, sprint reviews, demos, and analytics via systems (JIRA) administration to directly support initiatives set by Product Management and the company.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience/training required.
  • Experience with ERP backend development and integration, accounting principals, including financial management and inventory management modules required.
  • 4+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server database Programming, database design, query performance tuning, and writing stored procedures
  • Strong ability to profile and debug MS SQL database code.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software/database issues independently
  • Experience in using Microsoft BI tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS)
  • Experience with creating Data Flows/ ER Diagrams
  • Redis, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Graph database experience a plus.
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and related processes; exposure to JIRA tools.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-Motivated / Ability to Dig in and analyze existing code
  • Flexibility to adapt to change and reprioritize tasks, maintaining a sense of urgency.
