Job Summary:

As the Controller at Gosh Enterprises, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our cost accounting processes, providing accurate financial insights, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive strategic decisions. This position requires a proven financial leader with a 10-15 year track record of success who will provide forward looking financial leadership, analysis, and reporting to the Vice President of Finance. The position is also responsible for leading the financial staff on financial analysis, reporting requirements, and improvement opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and be able to develop binding relationships across all functional areas within the organization. They will exhibit a high degree of ethics, detail, and organizational aptitude, and have the ability to work seamlessly across cultures.



Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Lead the accounting team and managing all aspects of accounting and finance.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including consolidated income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide variance analysis on actual vs. budgeted costs.
  • Offer insights on cost trends and make recommendations for cost reduction or improvement.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with department heads to create annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Track budget performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in long-term financial planning and strategy development.

Compliance and Auditing:

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Coordinate and support external audits.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Work closely with the VP of Finance and senior leadership to align financial goals with overall business objectives.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of cost accounting procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in cost accounting.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in corporate and financial accounting or related financial roles.
  • Restaurant Industry experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting principles, methodologies, system implementation and software tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis software (e.g., Excel, SAP, or other ERP systems).
