We are looking for positive individuals to join our security team in a therapeutic detention setting for a government agency. This dynamic essential full-time position is entry-level and works a 12-hour shift beginning at 5 a.m. or 5 p.m. with every other weekend off.

**The Security Staff entry level rate of pay begins at $16 - $20.30 per hour** with opportunities to increase pay based on job performance! Annually, entry-level staff who successfully complete a 6-month probationary period **earn $35,700 to $44,000 per year**!

This role is perfect for anyone with experience as a youth mentor, coach, role model, teacher, or sponsor. It is also a great career for those with with academic backgrounds in Psychology, Criminal Justice, Education, Sociology, Counseling, and similar disciplines.

**SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES:**

Our Security Staff provide direct care and constant supervision to the residents. As members of our Operations Department, their primary duty is to assure the safety and security of each juvenile, yet this position is much more dynamic and interactive. JDS accompany the residents as they attend school, enjoy recreational time, and dine with their peers. They also implement FPJDCs therapeutic behavior management program, utilizing basic tenants of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to change criminal thinking.

**PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:**

Due to the nature of our role in the criminal justice system and our work with at-risk youth, the Center has a Candidates MUST successfully complete all pre-employment requirements satisfactorily. These include a Physical Fitness Exam (1.5 mile run, sit-ups, and push-ups), Diana Screen, criminal background check, Child Abuse Network Screen, drug test, and basic physical health screen.

**ELIGIBILITY:**

Applicants must possess a valid drivers License and have a high school diploma/GED to be eligible for employment.
