About the Role


The TOM Fellowship Program is Tikkun Olam Maker s flagship program that focuses on training and supporting exceptional students from around the world as they become TOM Community leaders on their campus. As TOM Community leaders, they will build an ecosystem that will address neglected challenges of people with disabilities and the elderly in their communities by building novel solutions and distributing existing ones.


Tikkun Olam Makers is seeking a TOM Fellowship Program Coordinator (US) to lead and grow the TOM Fellowship Program across the United States, overseeing a diverse group of student Fellows. The role involves managing day-to-day operations, from recruiting and training Fellows to tracking program metrics and forging strategic partnerships that amplify our global impact. The US Program Coordinator works closely with the Director of TOM@University as well as the US Technical Coordinator and members of the TOM global team to shape the program s strategy and ensure growth by planning impactful events, generating new knowledge and infusing innovative ideas. Overall, the US Program Coordinator will foster collaboration and innovation within our community, ensuring the sustained impact of our mission to empower students to create and distribute affordable open source solutions that improve people s lives.


TOM Fellowship Program Coordinator (US) Responsibilities


  • Lead and grow the TOM Fellowship Program in the United States
  • Oversee US-based student university Fellows in some 30+ campuses according to cyclical program calendar: recruitment, training, mentoring, overseeing work plan implementation and troubleshooting
  • Ensure smooth execution of Program throughout the year: Scheduling events and workshops, keeping track of campus activities, sending correspondence through different channels as needed and managing program budget.
  • Prepare Fellowship materials as needed, including forms, emails, surveys, presentations, summary meeting notes, budgets, reports, flyers and one pagers.
  • Maintain and update the TOM@University website and Toolkit
  • Collaborate with the Global Director of TOM University on global program strategy, training, content creation and events planning
  • Execute program data collection and analysis including program KPIs through surveys and data management platform
  • Represent TOM at events and meetings as needed, including occasional travel
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events including the TOM Fellowship Kickoff, Global Innovation Challenge, and Community Leader Bootcamps
  • Collaborate with other key TOM team members on various projects as needed, including grant proposals, fundraising materials, newsletters, reports and social media campaigns.
  • Maintain alongside TOM@University team the Fellowship Alumni Network and Faculty Forum


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor s degree
  • 2+ years of volunteer or work experience in related field, including program management, managing volunteers and planning events
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to see bigger picture while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently interact with students, senior professionals and community partners
  • Creative and dynamic mindset with ability to be agile and innovative while remaining task-oriented
  • Cultural sensitivity, empathy, independence and professionalism
  • Ability to work well in a hybrid environment


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working with Monday.com, Canva, Google Workspace, Typeform, Wix website builder and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with US higher education ecosystem, including campus environment and academic structure
  • Passion for the world of disabilities, inclusion and accessibility, assistive technology, human-centered design and adaptive design.
  • Familiarity with the world of fabrication technologies, makerspaces and DIY culture.
  • Tech and design savvy
