Von & Bick Healthcare Associates is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSP) with a focus on providing care for clients with Developmental Disabilities and Behavioral Health challenges (DBHDD). As a DSP-CNA/Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our clients by offering personalized support, fostering independence, and promoting a positive and inclusive environment. Patient will need care M-F 9 am-5 pm. Every other week M-Sunday 9 am-3 pm.
Responsibilities:
Personalized Care:
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate documentation.
- Monitor and record vital signs, ensuring the health and well-being of clients.
Behavioral Support:
- Implement and follow behavioral support plans designed for each individual.
- Employ positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviors.
- Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation strategies.
Assessment and Planning:
- Participate in the development and updating of individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess client needs and progress.
- Report observations and concerns to supervisors and participate in team meetings.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting care provided and any significant changes.
- Report incidents, accidents, or unusual occurrences promptly and in accordance with policies.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide updates on client progress and participate in regular team meetings.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and agency policies.
Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred
- Previous experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Behavioral Health challenges
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm in challenging situations and implement crisis intervention techniques
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of others
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
