Overview Hackettstown Medical Center, a member of the prestigious Atlantic Health System is currently seeking a Full-Time Cook. Required hours vary, including every other weekend.
Responsibilities
* Displays and maintains friendly and efficient PRIDE values attitude towards customers, co-workers, patients and visitors.
* Maintains standards of the Food Service Department, follows policies and procedures set by the department, hospital and Atlantic Health System, the New Jersey Department of Health and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals.
* Reviews menus, assembles food supplies and equipment for daily hot/cold food production following assignment by supervisor.
* Prepares menu items using established food production systems and utilizing equipment within cooking area.
* Follows recipe and other production information to complete preparation of assigned menu items.
* Wash, peels, cuts and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use.
* Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish, vegetables and other foods.
* Carves meat, portions food in serving containers, adds gravies, sauces and garnishes.
* Performs other tasks as needed/directed to facilitate workflow in kitchen and food distribution areas.
* Procures food products/supplies from refrigerator, freezer and other storage areas.
* Provides assistance, where needed, with other food production.
* Assists in stocking inventories, supply ordering and unit inspections as directed.
* Keeps supervisor informed of equipment needs.
* Maintains compliance with standards of operation, and within Business Conduct Policy.
* Maintains all records and reports necessary to comply with AHS, government and accrediting agency standards, regulations and codes.
* Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended.
Qualifications **REQUIREMENTS:**
* Must be able to lift, push, pull 50 lbs.
* Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
**EDUCATION:**
* High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
