Duties may include:
- Answering incoming calls, administrative, non-emergency, and emergency
- Professional etiquette
- Promptly ascertain proper levels of response.
- Triage calls and enter data into computer system.
- Data Entry with critical attention to details.
- Constantly monitoring the dispatch system.
- Ensure units are en-route.
- Post moves in a timely fashion.
- Ensure other unites are within acceptable distance.
- Communicate appropriate routing instructions.
- Assist with routine maintenance of Communication Center.
- Investigate and report all time exceptions.
- Complete and submit daily reports.
- Assist in training new personnel.
Prerequisites for this position:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Highly organized.
- Accountability, compliance, and teamwork.
- Professional, courteous, and respectful interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and other staff.
Preferred experience or credentials
Competitive candidates will have:
- Minimum 1 year experience with medical terminology preferably with a background in emergency medical transportation.
- Thorough geographic knowledge of service areas.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Competent radio communication skills.
