A healthcare organization in New York City is currently seeking a new Development Associate in their Special Events department to join their growing team in the Bronx.
About the Opportunity:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Length: Ongoing
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:30am to 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
- Setting: Onsite 5 days a week
Responsibilities:
The Development Associate will:
- Maintain accurate and current event and in-kind records in Raiser's Edge
- Generate invitation, attendance, and revenue reports as required
- Collaborate in the planning and execution of special events, including logistical coordination, guest list management, collateral preparation, and participant follow-up
- Ensure efficient tracking of monetary and in-kind gifts, complete necessary forms, and oversee payment processing
- Maintain and inventory event supplies, ensuring availability and readiness for upcoming events
- Recruit and organize volunteers for events, overseeing sign-ups and assignments
- Conduct vendor research and liaise with suppliers such as venues and caterers as necessary
- Provide support to the Senior Director of Special Events and other team members as required, assisting in various tasks related to event planning and execution
- Lead and contribute to long-term projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Special Events team
- Collaborate with team members to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in an Office setting
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Experience in a Development, Alumni, Special Events, Public Relations and/or Marketing role
- Familiarity with Raiser's Edge database and/or a comparable Fundraising database
