The Southeast Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and highly organized individual to join our team as a Clinic Assistant. As a Clinic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth functioning of our medical practice. Your responsibilities will include handling prior authorizations, managing various inboxes, rooming patients, managing inventory, and other administrative tasks under the direction of the practice manager or designated lead.

Requirements
  • Process and manage prior authorizations for medical procedures, medications, and referrals, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Scan and organize medical records, documents, and other important files to maintain an efficient and organized system.
  • Monitor and manage inboxes, including messages, medical assistant boxes, and laboratory results, promptly responding or forwarding them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in rooming patients, preparing them for examination, and documenting vital signs and medical history as required.
  • Ensure efficient turnover of examination rooms by cleaning and restocking supplies after each patient visit.
  • Maintain and manage inventory of medical and office supplies, ensuring appropriate levels are maintained and reordering as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide excellent patient care, assist in procedures, and support the overall functioning of the clinic.
  • Adhere to established protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant healthcare environment.
  • Keep up-to-date with medical terminology, coding, and insurance regulations to effectively communicate with patients, insurance providers, and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
  • High school is required.
  • CNA, PCT, MA, or other related training and/or certification preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling administrative tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented healthcare environment.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting or medical office is preferred.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
