Banquet Manager - PRESIDIO

Wedgewood Weddings & Events at the Presidio is looking for an experienced Banquet Manager to join our team and take charge of orchestrating exceptional banquets across multiple locations. As a key player in our operations, you'll be responsible for ensuring flawless event execution while coordinating with various departments to deliver memorable experiences for our guests.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and oversee banquet staff to ensure adequate coverage for events.
  • Supervise banquet operations, including recruitment, hiring, and training of staff.
  • Lead weekly team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and updates.
  • Ensure all necessary materials are ordered and venue spaces are properly cleaned and prepared before each event.
  • Oversee setup and teardown of event spaces, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Act as the Manager on Duty for all events, taking charge of any issues or concerns that arise.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
  • Preferably enrolled in an accredited academic institution or possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in banquet management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Current ServSafe Manager certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Bilingual preferred

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 5 hours) and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Pay: $100,000-$110,000 per year

Bonus: $2,500/quarterly

Location: Presidio San Francisco, CA

The important extras:
  • As is typical in the hospitality industry, this position requires regular availability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, as well as shifts of more than 8 hours and workweeks of more than 40 hours.
