Description

The Buyer will assist in sourcing materials, supplies, and services for Legend Manufacturing, Inc. to fulfill production needs in the most favorable terms available. Using their analytical and negotiating skills, the Buyer will work with suppliers, researching possible item selections and taking inventory of current products.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Initiate purchase orders (PO's) and requests for quotes (RFQ's) to suppliers according to scheduled production needs.
  • Assist in the identification of possible new supplier partnerships to meet demands.
  • Ensure all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
  • Assisting the Purchasing Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
  • Assist in analyzing and evaluating cost structures and supplier assessments to ensure best overall value for the organization.
  • Resolve discrepancies and issues in invoices and purchases in partnership with accounting and production
  • Maintain positive communications across multiple disciplines (e.g. Production, Engineering, Sales, Warehousing).
  • Establish and maintain targeted raw material levels across multiple commodity groups within warehouse constraints.


Requirements

  • At least 2 years of buying experience.
  • Strong computer literacy skills which include ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiating skills
  • Prior experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably including trailers, RVs, automotive, boat, or aluminum extrusion.
  • Prefer experience with ERP systems.
