OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Lead Ministry Assistant is responsible for coordinating and organizing office operations and directly supports the HL campus pastor, communicates with HL staff and congregants, and is a resource to its ministry pastors/directors. The lead ministry assistant supervises the HL support team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A growing disciple of Jesus Christ, evidenced by a consistent walk with Him
- Experience and enthusiasm for ministering to the church body and a heart to serve
- A minimum of three years professional administrative experience with significant skills in leadership, organization, and administration
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to supervise and encourage a team
- Ability to work on a team towards specific goals in a mutually edifying and supportive manner
- A self-starter requiring little supervision
- Strong attention to detail, especially when juggling multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel with the ability to learn website updating and database administration
- Relational ability to seek out, train, develop, and care for volunteers
- Open to critique, correction, and a desire to learn
- Committed to a local church as evidenced by current involvement/activities
- A good fit with the Highland Lakes Staff and Austin Ridge Team
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide administrative support to HL Campus Pastor
- Supervise admin team, both staff and volunteer, including assigning tasks, monitoring timecards, and approving time-off requests
- Maintain excellent communication between all ministries within the church, key volunteers, and members of the congregation
- Schedule pastoral counseling, weddings, funerals, and other special services as needed
- Maintain calendars and make appointments for HL Campus Pastor
- Plan and execute details related to special events, training programs, retreats, and meetings
- Create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations when needed
- Maintain confidential information related to the church, pastors, and congregants
- Supervise HL side of the ARBC website and ensure ministry pages are current, relevant, accurate, and in keeping with communications standards
- Monitor HL partner and ministry information in CCB so that data is accurate and reliable. Work with Database Manager on various database components relating to HL campus.
- Assist with special events or tasks as needed, or requested
- Other tasks as assigned
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: - Agrees with and commits to ARBC's Statement of Faith
- Is currently or is willing to become an active partner of ARBC - Highland Lakes
- Must agree to and pass a background check
- Willing and available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:Reporting Structure: - Under the overall guidance of the Elder Board and the Lead Pastor
- Reports directly to the HL Campus Pastor
- Member of the HL Ministry Team
Staff Relationships - The Administrative Team Lead HL works closely with:
- HL Staff
- HL Volunteers
- ARBC Admin Team
- Austin Ridge specialty staff (Tech, Communications, IT, etc.)
