About Us: SWITCH Maritime ( SWITCH ) is a U.S. maritime project development company building a fleet of zero-emissions vessels for adoption by existing private and public operators. SWITCH s first project is the Sea Change, a 70-foot catamaran ferry and the first commercial zero-emissions hydrogen fuel cell powered vessel in the U.S. SWITCH s sights are set on growing the fleet to incorporate a range of vessel types, including larger 150 and 300+ passenger ferries for deployment in markets across the U.S. With an exciting growth trajectory ahead, SWITCH is seeking a dynamic and experienced Maritime Operations Manager to oversee the operation of its zero-emissions vessels.

Responsibilities:

Develop deep understanding of zero-emissions hydrogen fuel cell vessel operation and functionality.

Organize and manage documentation (Engineering drawings and submittals, approval letters, etc.) for U.S. Coast Guard compliance for vessels in SWITCH fleet.

Oversee daily vessel operations, monitoring crew performance and adherence to operational best practices.

Coordinate hydrogen fueling evolutions with appropriate notifications and documentation.

Oversee adherence to planned maintenance schedule in accordance with vessel operations manuals.

Act as a first line of defense for assessing scope and severity of unplanned maintenance events and engaging appropriate vendors / subcontractors as needed.

Maintain adequate inventory of spare parts available for vessel(s) needs, with tracking of full purchase history of parts orders.

Maintain close communication with Chief Operational Officer, reporting with status and progress updates.


Qualifications:

3-5+ years maritime industry experience, with familiarity of U.S. Coast Guard regulatory compliance.

Mechanical / electrical engineering background with in-depth knowledge of electrical systems and ability to perform system diagnostics and basic hands-on maintenance / repair.

Project management experience, with competence in Microsoft programs.

Ability to work independently, as well as part of a cohesive team.

Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple work streams in a fast-paced environment.

Focus on attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
