General Aviation Industries, Inc. at 415 Jones Rd. Weatherford, TX is looking to add a Purchasing Agent/Buyer to their Aerospace Manufacturing procurement team!

Summary: Assist the Procurement Manager and purchasing team to meet production requirements and project delivery deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Review material planning reports for purchase requirements.
• Source products, issue RFQ s and analyze for price, lead time.
• Prepare purchase orders for Raw Materials (steel and aluminum), Hardware and components to meet deliverables of projects, based on materials planning and production schedule.
• Maintain files, monitor open PO s and expedite deliverables as required.
• Assist with other duties including spot buys, expediting, RMA processing, as assigned

Notes: This position is an on-site (not remote) hourly position. The successful candidate must pass a drug screening.

Preferred Skills and Requirements for the Position:

• Previous (1 3 years) purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Computer skills required including experience with MS Office & ERP system.
• Ability to read/interpret drawing & specs notes, and ERP system reports preferred.
• Understanding of DFARS compliance, raw material specs preferred
• Understanding of military-standard specification in hardware, paints, chemicals etc.
• Ability to work with interruptions in workflow and changing priorities
• Good analytical skills
• Basic math computation skills, understanding of cost accounting principles
• Responsiveness and good communication skills
• Ability to work in busy environment and maintain focus on priorities
• Understanding of military-standard specs in hardware, paints, chemicals etc.
