Job Summary


Make repairs to Injection molds by fabricating and machining cavities, cores, inserts, pins, plates and mold components.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work independently to assess repairs and setup tool room equipment to perform specific tasks
  • Accurately measure mold components using gauges, jo blocks, comparator, micrometers and other measuring devices to determine fit and machining required to accomplish repairs
  • Operate mills, lathes, grinders, EDM equipment both conventional and CNC
  • Advise supervisor of practical means to accomplish repairs based on assessment of the work required
  • Disassemble tooling and reassemble as required to fit critical components
  • Accomplish assigned repair work in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work within molding and mold prep departments to help repair and assemble tooling
  • Maintain tools and advise supervisor of repairs status and the need for purchased accessories and tooling components
  • Build fixtures, and other devices to support production as required
  • Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5-8 years work experience in a manufacturing environment evaluating, troubleshooting, and building/repairing injection molds
  • Ability to operate C.N.C equipment
  • Ability to work from sketches, prints, or samples
  • Experience with tools ranging 300-13,000lbs and molding machines 80 ton to 770 ton, preferred
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Ability to program and operate C.N.C equipment
  • Ability to work from sketches, prints, or samples
  • Ability to interact with other between departments effectively
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Ability to use CAM software, preferred
  • Preferred Requirements
  • Technical school degree
  • Vocational school program
  • Journeyman status in machining/tooling
