Irvine, CA - This position cannot be done remotely.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Catalyst Creative is looking for a full-time Apparel Product Developer to develop our swim and sportswear SMS lines. Candidates must have import, private label, and development experience, as well as possess strong product knowledge, be organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, have excellent written and oral communication skills, and have a POSITIVE attitude.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage the development and approval process including fabric, lab dips, strike offs, trim, TP review, and sample development
Source and initiate fabric and trim R&D
Negotiate and manage initial SMS costing
Establish SMS TNA
Manage development WIP tracking to ensure on-time sample deliveries
Manage daily communication with overseas/import vendors
Execute to SMS calendar & specifications & procedures
Publish sample status to internal cross-functional teams
Be part of and have input on Technical Fit sessions for all proto & SMS samples
Communicate, interface and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Design, Technical Design, Merchandising and Sales
Work with design to update CADs and tech packs when needed
Prepare and manage incoming & outgoing packages to overseas factories
Perform other related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Strong knowledge of woven and knit fabrics, printing, and garment construction
Strong multitasking, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office
Experience in developing and costing for private label customers is a huge plus
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in apparel imports
