Job Summary:
The Surgical Tech at HR Employer Solutions Group will be responsible for providing support to surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. This role will be a critical part of ensuring the efficiency and success of surgical operations. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of surgical techniques, equipment, and patient care, and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time position based in West Palm Beach, Florida, and it is an individual contributor role.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers a competitive salary of $30 per hour, paid weekly. In addition, the employer offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and continuing education opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, sterilize, and set up surgical equipment and supplies before and during surgery.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other team members.
- Monitor and maintain a sterile environment during surgeries.
- Prepare and position patients for surgical procedures.
- Handle specimens and tissue samples for laboratory testing.
- Clean and restock the operating room after each procedure.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the efficient flow of surgical operations.
- Follow all safety and infection control policies and protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records of surgical procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in surgical technology and techniques.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Previous experience as a surgical tech prefered.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and supplies.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- CPR certification.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
