Our Material Handling Division, which spans across MiJack RTG cranes, Broderson industrial cranes, LiftKing forklifts, and Greenfield equipment, is hiring a CAD Systems Administrator. In this role you will oversee the efficient operation of the Computer-Aided Design (we use Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD) and document management systems (we use Vault (PDM) and Fusion Manage (PLM)) within the Engineering department. You will lead our CAD software utilization, implementing standardized practices, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of CAD designs. The CAD Administrator plays a critical role in project management, collaborating with engineers and project managers to meet deadlines and adhere to project requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment, providing training and development opportunities for team members, and staying updated on advancements in CAD technology. The CAD Administrator is instrumental in driving efficiency, consistency, and excellence within the engineering department, ultimately contributing to the success of the organization's projects and objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • CAD System Management: Implementing and maintaining CAD software tools & systems.
  • Establish CAD standards and best practices for the organization.
  • Develop and update templates, libraries, catalogs, and user styles.
  • Provide training and mentoring to team members to enhance skills and productivity.
  • Develop tools to increase productivity throughout engineering drafting workflows.
  • Assist in planning and budgeting for CAD-related expenses.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to CAD users.
  • Flexibility to work on additional drafting, process, MRP integration and configurator tasks as required.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external industry partners and CAD system suppliers to enhance development capabilities.
  • Provide input on the development of engineering processes and procedures.

  • Skilled in applying technical knowledge to support and enhance engineering practices.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the engineering team and external partners.
  • Capable of managing multiple development projects under tight deadlines with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Knowledge of effective collaboration techniques and ability to build networks with people from different countries and cultures.


Work Environment:

This is primarily an office classification, and employees work in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. May work offsite in various environments; travel may be required.

Physical & Travel Demands:

  • The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports, records, and other materials that typically weigh less than 30 pounds.
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel is expected.


Required Education & Experience:

  • Accredited engineering degree in mechanical, industrial, structural, automotive and/or electrical disciplines.
  • 4+ years of experience working in CAD administration, implementing AutoCAD Electrical, and in a mixed platform environment with Autodesk and Solidworks.
