Louisiana Trust and Estates Document Reviewer


Job Details

Our client, a legal database/analytics company, is actively looking for a Louisiana Trust and Estates Attorney to join their team! This is a fully remote, part-time position (10-20 hours per week).


***This begins as a 6 month contract with an opportunity to extend***

This position will require reviewing and updating practical guidance and forms for Lexis Practical Guidance, an online legal product for attorneys, and creating new content, as needed. This is a contract position involving flexible hours (assignments can be completed as your schedule permits, as long as the deadline is met).


Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and revise practical guidance articles on trusts and estates and probate topics
  • Review and update wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related estate planning documents
  • Draft new forms, checklists, charts, and other how-to guidance on estate planning topics, as needed
  • Supplement existing documents with state-specific practical guidance based on state law, local custom, and legal practice experience


Qualifications:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • Member, in good standing, of the Louisiana State Bar
  • 5+ years of experience as a practicing trusts and estates attorney
  • Substantive experience drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and other estate planning documents
  • Excellent writing, editing, and legal research skills
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Word with track changes and conducting online research
