POSITION SUMMARY

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is seeking a Donor Relations Associate. As an integral part of the Resource Development team, the Donor Relations Associate will work with the Director of Special Events and Donor Relations to build meaningful donor relationships and facilitate successful stewardship. This includes supporting cultivation of new donors, developing and managing donor engagement processes and procedures, ensuring effective set up and execution of fund agreements, executing donor events and recognizing our giving circles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage giving societies, donor onboarding and monthly contributor.
  • Support pre/post-event logistics (attendance tracking, set up/break down, onsite guest support, etc.) and other administrative activities as needed.
  • Conduct research on venues and vendors (catering, audio visual, dcor, branded items, etc.) to best meet event requirements and budget.
  • Assist in the solicitation of in-kind donations (auction, event services, etc.).
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling and deployment of donor stewardship events, activities and mailings.
  • Cultivate special projects like birthday campaigns, silent auctions and thank-a-thons.
  • Execute logistics for events, meetings with donors and community members including scheduling, material and presentation preparation, sharing information, taking notes, etc.
  • Facilitate meetings, place calls and send written correspondence.
  • Lead stewardship activities and communications including holiday cards, fund descriptions and post event follow-up.
  • Oversee administration, stewardship and implementation of sponsorship benefits including working across teams to ensure the coordination and accuracy of all agreements and documentation.
  • Develop invitations and creative ways to recognize supporters and to demonstrate the value of giving.
  • Coordinate volunteer support with external affairs.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in a related field of study
  • One to three years of experience managing donor engagement and/or fundraising events
  • Commitment to the mission of BGCGW must adhere to the highest ethical standards, demonstrate an empathetic disposition and perseverance, and convey sensitivity to the needs of donors, staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent attention to details and follow through as demonstrated through effective project management experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and especially written.
  • Comfort multi-tasking multiple deadlines and projects and follow through.
  • High degree of sophistication, self-confidence and self-motivation ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Positive attitude working in a development department with high functioning fundraisers; team-focused, must enjoy and be successful at working on teams and able to roll up ones sleeves and make things happen as an individual.
  • Flexibility must be comfortable collaborating across multiple departments, six regional boards and 15 Club locations in the greater Washington, DC area.
  • CRM (Raisers Edge NXT, DonorPerfect, Salesforce, etc.) experience preferred.
  • Must have strong home internet connection (work laptop and cell phone will be provided).
