Patient Sitter-Float Pool PRN - 7430-5980 Havasu Regional Medical Center **Description**
Under the supervision of an RN, responsible for providing Patient Observation/Sitter services to hospital patients as deemed necessary. Responsible for providing close and/or continuous observation of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients who may be at risk for adverse events such as falls, self-injury or harm to others. Reports any complaints, change in condition, including any falls, incidents, or behaviors to the nurse. Uses two patient identifiers to clearly identify the patient before providing care to the patient. Create and maintain a calm atmosphere throughout the unit and through the shift.
Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer
FLSA: Non-exempt
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Education**
High school diploma preferred.
**Required Skills**
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
**Required Skills**
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
AHA- First Aid, CPR, AED certification also acceptable
