Position Summary

Responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of Relative Care Giver Program Care Coordinators. Responsible for staff development of direct reports. Responsible for ensuring quality documentation that complies with state licensing, federal, and accreditation standards. Ensures effective collaboration within and between services/programs and with external partners. Ensures continuous availability of supervision, consultation, and support of program staff. Performs managerial duties such as interviewing applicants for employment, assigning and reviewing progress on assignments, managing, and evaluating the performance of the Relative Caregiver Services staff.

This position will train in our Knoxville offices and transition to work out of our Morristown office.

This position has 5-6 direct reports.

Essential Functions:

Supervisory

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Childhelp s cultural values and performance principles, company policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures implementation and fidelity to the Childhelp model of care
  • Adherence to the Childhelp service delivery requirements to include supervision meetings, observations, and data reviews
  • Actively participating in the interviewing and hiring processes and ensuring successful functional on-boarding of new employees
  • Oversees training process for direct reports
  • Planning, assigning, and overseeing work for direct reports
  • Provides consistent coaching feedback and learning opportunities to direct reports
  • Completes reviews of Client documentation including by not limited to the assessment, Treatment Plans/Service Plans, case notes, and discharge summaries on a regular basis and provides feedback
  • Setting reasonable stretch performance goals, providing constructive, balanced, regular performance feedback, and conducting annual performance appraisals
  • Recognizing and rewarding performance excellence
  • Communicating and enforcing company policies and programs
  • Applying corrective action, addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely fashion, involving and collaborating with leadership and Human Resources as appropriate
Continuous Improvement and Quality
  • Ensures quality care is provided to the children and families while adhering to and enforcing federal and state licensing regulations
  • Ensures compliance from all Care Coordinators in the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Coordinates effective collection and analysis of program data from a variety of sources
  • Develops and maintains professional working relationships with all necessary community agencies and services
  • Provides training and in-service education to staff depending on expertise
  • Consistently exercises sound, independent judgment and adequate emotional stability in evaluating situations and making decisions despite the pressures of deadlines or the occurrence of unexpected stressful events
  • Provides leadership and positive role modeling for all staff by attending, actively participating in, and ensuring the same for staff of all training, staff meetings, and supervision meetings, and demonstrates learned concepts on the job
  • Completes required documentation including but not limited to service delivery documentation
  • Engages in continuous improvement efforts, as assigned, and strives to continuously improve the quality of care and self
  • Carries out other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the program
Requirements

Education & Experience, Knowledge/Understanding
  • Master s degree in social work or related field, and 2 years of experience in child welfare services; social work or casework; or Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field and three years experience in child welfare services; social work or casework;
  • Clear fingerprint background screening through the Department of Justice, FBI, and Child Abuse Index

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor with the ability to build rapport and garner trust with others
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, planning, and time management skills

  • Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
Abilities
  • Ability to understand and solve problems by applying intermediate analytical skills to include collecting all the relevant information and data needed to address the problem; organizing, classifying and synthesizing the data into fundamental issues; from the information, identifying the most probable causes of the problem; reducing the information down into manageable components; identifying the logical outcomes from the analyses of the data collected; and, identifying the options and solutions for addressing the problems analyzed
  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities in a professional and timely manner

Physical Demands
  • In the course of performing the essential duties one must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
