Hillside Hospice a PathWell Company is currently seeking compassionate individuals to volunteer with our organization. As a hospice volunteer, you will have the opportunity to provide support and comfort to patients and their families during a challenging time. Hospice volunteers are essential members of the hospice team. Volunteers provide companionship to people living with a serious illness who might be near the end of life.
Responsibilities:
- Visit with patients and provide companionship
- Assist with errands and household tasks as needed
- Listen and offer emotional support to patients and families
- Provide respite care for caregivers
- Participate in activities with patients, such as playing games or reading
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must pass a background check
- Must complete hospice volunteer training program
- Must be able to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week

- Excellent listening skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable with providing emotional support
- Comfortable with end-of-life issues
