Albertsons Companies has an exciting Field Services Technician III opportunity, focused on supporting all elements of retail technology in our Shaw's and Star Market retail stores. This position is primarily focused on supporting Vermont retail locations and participating on a team responsible for the 148 locations throughout New England. What you will be doing

This role is responsible for supporting all elements of our retail technology environment. This includes but is not limited to point-of-sale, handheld/mobile devices, printers, scales, PC, phone, network, file servers, and security technologies. While this position is based in the Montpelier, VT area, you will be supporting our stores throughout the New England region. There will be times when you will need to support stores further, which at times will require overnight stays.

Main responsibilities

  • Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout retail stores and facilities.
  • Repair all approved standard technology including PC/Server hardware, network, mobile, POS, scale, and printer technologies.
  • Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications.
  • Installation of new hardware and software.
  • Adhere to support policies and stated service level agreement goals.
  • Provide network and remote connectivity (hardware/software) support.
  • Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment inventory controls.
  • Collaborate with centralized support groups.
  • Driving is required for this Zone Service Area.

We are searching for someone with

  • Information Technology exposure with 5+ years of technical systems, and 2+ years of technical support experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with retail store systems, technology systems and hardware preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology preferred.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and successful resolution skills.
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills with the ability to gather important information to resolve issues in high pressure situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present technical information and tailor responses for customer understanding.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, Windows, MS Office, and related applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, day, weekends, evenings and overnight in a 24/7 on-call support capacity.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience

  • High school graduate, BA/BS degree preferred or 3+ year's technical/training/hardware certifications preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment and demonstrate necessary dexterity twisting and turning for equipment installations.
  • Clean driving record.

Physical Environment

  • Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
  • May spend long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
  • Will use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during the course of normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
  • Workday is fast paced; some evening and weekend work may be required.
