Ultrasound Technologist


Job Details

Location: Worcester, MA

Schedule: Mon-Fri, must be available for support of operations Sat/Sun // Responsible for direct oversight of department during operational hours

Type of Engagement: Contract to Hire


This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise assigned personnel including scheduling, orientation, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Make recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and other similar actions
  • Perform and document all quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) per DPH and ACR guidelines
  • Responsible for all accreditation and state inspection processes
  • Perform ultrasound exams as needed based on staffing
  • Maintain daily records on all ultrasound examinations
  • Monitor compliance with recommendations for follow-up studies
  • Maintain pathological results from biopsies
  • Maintain accurate technologist and radiologist credentials
  • Maintain accurate records of performed and interpreted procedures
  • Maintain and update medical audit analysis in coordination with the lead interpreting physician
  • Perform related administrative duties as needed


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years ultrasound experience required
  • ARDMS certification in general and breast imaging
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Must be a graduate of an AMA accredited ultrasound program or equivalent
  • Must be certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Must be competent to perform ultrasound exams on newborns, children, adults, and geriatric patients, meeting all department guidelines
  • Must be BLS (Basic Life Support) certified
