Roles & Responsibilities:
Set goals and develop plans for business and revenue growth
Arrange business development meetings with prospective clients
Keep records of prospecting/sales activities in CRM
Promote the company's services addressing or predicting clients' objectives.
Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers (i.e., agents, carriers, third-party vendors, associations, etc.)
Research prospective accounts in target markets
Pursue leads and move them through the sales cycle
Attend professional conferences and industry events
Understand the different services each department in OCI provides and be able to demonstrate/communicate those to prospective agents
Coordinate with internal departments on company initiatives
Support and collaborate with internal teams on agent relations
Ability to manage high priority issues
Build and retain relationships with internal staff
Adopt the company's values, mission, and vision

A Day in the Life:
Proactive outreach to agent/agency prospects via the phone and in person with goal of scheduling discovery meetings...lead lists are provided
Schedule and conduct sales meetings both virtual and in person
Deliver OCIs power statement to prospective agents/agencies
Midwest based
Work from home if not based in Omaha/Elkhorn area
40-50% day travel, but only 2-3 overnights per month

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Gain your Life and Health Insurance license within the first year.
Sales experience required
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Negotiation skills
Ability to build rapport
Organizational skills- Comfortable handling numerous clients, off-site meetings, and deadlines
Time Management skills- Must understand how to prioritize their time, manage their calendar and adjust schedule as needed
Computer skills- Ability to use a sales content management system (CMS) to track leads and client calls and document where each prospect is in the sales cycle
Drive and Self-motivation- Most successful Business Development Managers are goal-oriented, and commission driven.
Soft skills, emotional intelligence, problem solving, creativity, and a sense of humor
Life and Health Insurance License preferred but not required for hire
Salary Description
$50,000.00- $75,000 plus unlimited commission
