Under the direction of the DON, oversees the infection control program in the facility.
Eligible for signing bonus!
Must be licensed as an LPN or RN with an ICP Certificate.
Provides education to all staff regarding infection control principles and techniques.
Monitors and collects data on infections and vaccinations.
Updates policies and procedures as needed with the guidance and direction of the DON.
Maintains all infection control data and reports as required to outside agencies.
Sets up clinics and administers vaccines.
Collect, audit and report infection control data to the QAPI committee.
Participates with Staff Development in relation to roles, responsibilities, principles and practices of infection control.
Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team.
Familiarity with SNF safety, sanitation standards, and procedures.
Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
Excellent knowledge of medical and SNF terminology.
Good knowledge of MS Office (or similar technology) and data entry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate and able to handle stress.
