Overview

JOB SUMMARY

Performs routine preventative maintenance, repairs, installs and general servicing to County buildings to ensure upkeep of facilities and the safety of all who enter the buildings. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with general repairs within the facility including, basic electrical, plumbing, preventative maintenance, assembling and moving furniture as needed.
  • Repairs HVAC and electrical equipment as required.
  • Makes necessary repairs to building facilities.
  • Installs and repairs electrical wiring as needed.
  • Maintains routine check on general conditions of all buildings.
  • Assists in the preventative maintenance of all systems.
  • Trains and/or assists other employees with their duties.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years job related experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials.
  • Basic working knowledge of plumbing and carpentry; specific knowledge of commercial electrical and HVAC systems.
  • License preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $19.71 - $24.63 hourly based on qualifications
