**POSITION SUMMARY:** Under the guidance of the NW General Manager, this position manages the Basalite Sales and representing Basalite Concrete Products, its products, and, in general terms, the concrete masonry industry to Architects, Dealers, Engineers, Specification Writers, Contractors, as well as Building Owners and other influencers. Knowledge of the design, construction, and development community is required as well as the current project delivery methods; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the **Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success.** Performs other related duties as assigned. **Supervision Received:** Sales Manager will receive direction and leadership from the NW General Manager, subsidiary support teams and work in equal partnership with the plant manager. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Work with each of the sales representatives in an oversight position to Develop, implement and maintain strategic direction as it relates to each groups specific product lines, customers and markets

+ Provide direction on sales representative training and management.

+ Work with the sales team to develop annual sales and marketing plans and expense budgets in alignment with their respective strategic plans.

+ Continuously monitor, analyze and report sales and customer data to maximize sales opportunity and profit. At minimum, this occurs as part of the monthly financial review process.

+ Work as part of a Companywide team to effectively teach, configure and implement Sales-Force.com (Customer Relationship Management software) with the goal of tying together the entire sales process for each of our primary product lines and related sales channels.

+ Develop relationships with current key customers in existing markets and potential new customers as the strategic direction of the groups moves into new markets.

+ Take an active role in new product and system development as it relates to each of the sales groups. * Reach, inform (Educate), Equip (Design tools), and Support design professionals with technical, detail, and specification information. Assist with the goal of obtaining project specifications of our full product line.

* Educate on use and application of our full product line through various methods including, luncheon seminars, face to face visits, trade shows, conferences and various industry related networking events.

* Using our CRM platform, report, track, monitor, update and disseminate project specification information for marketing purposes, future sales and lead tracking.

* Discern market trends and recognize code/technical activity related to company products. Keep management informed of any significant occurrence that may affect and impact the company.

* Participate and network in Architectural, Engineering and Specification Associations including but not limited to CSI, AIA, SEOCC, NAOIP, etc.

* Maintain an adequate sample inventory and coordinate with production for additional materials.

* Work with 3rd party suppliers on brick promotion, sales, and logistic support.

* Supervision Duties

* Provide direct guidance and coaching for direct reports

* Assess staff skillset and address essential training needs to promote retention

* Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and advise on year-end performance reviews for all personnel via SuccessFactors (HRIS).

* Make critical hiring and firing decisions

* Work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire and employ using SFSF Recruiting module.

* Responsible for monitoring and approving employee actions in EC (HRIS) in a timely manner.

* Attend safety meetings and abide by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

**QUALIFICATIONS** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. T he requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Bachelors Degree (Business-related major preferred)

* Five years sales experience and five years managerial experience, preferably in building materials industry.

* Highly computer literate, including a high degree of understanding of professional best practices with respect to email, social media, and document generation and management (MSWord, Adobe PDF, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite)

* Familiar with or able to quickly learn CRM.

* Experience with BIM imagery, Masonry IQ a plus.

* A great communicator who can tell stories that inspire and inform, rather than just convey product data, especially during lunch & learn sessions

* Very organized with record-keeping and excellent time management

* Highly responsive to customer needs

* Mobile savvy and comfortable with regular local travel

* Familiar with architectural design, engineering, or construction process, particularly with respect to overall project design (aesthetics, energy design, preliminary and project cost management;

* Familiar with the various stages of design, through construction.

* Must have current drivers license, good driving record and an automobile with proof of auto insurance.
