Wine Junction is an upscale, boutique wine shop and bar. Open since early 2023, we showcase fine wines from small producers, as well as offer a cozy lounge to enjoy wine with small plates curated by Pepe Moncayo, the Chef of Cranes restaurant in Washington DC. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming atmosphere for wine enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Our goal is to educate, inspire, and provide the best wine-buying experience to our customers.
We are looking for a Sales Associate to assist in the shop, with the following responsibilities:
- Provide knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient customer service to help guests select wines
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the wine shop, including inventory management, ringing checkout, and maintaining a clean, inviting, and well-organized shop environment
- Lead wine tastings and educational events for customers
- Serve dining guests with in a friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable manner
- Work with the kitchen to ensure a seamless service experience
The ideal candidate will have:- At least 1 year of hospitality experience, and feel comfortable describing wine verbally
- A passion for wine and providing exceptional customer service
- A positive attitude and be a team player
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
- Some formal wine qualification, such as WSET or CMS, or willingness to pursue this education
Working details: - Minimum schedule is part-time, with shifts Thursday - Saturday, 4-9pm
- Hourly compensation $18-21, depending on experience, PLUS tips additional
