Position Overview

The Safety Manager, Yachts plays an essential role in maintaining and enhancing the safety standards and compliance of our yacht fleet. This position requires a dynamic, detail-oriented individual capable of both independent decision-making and close collaboration with the Senior Safety Manager, Yachts and will be instrumental in responding to customer inquiries, assessing inspection reports, overseeing the maintenance of compliance platforms, and assisting in the daily operations concerning the yacht fleet's safety and compliance. This role demands a high level of flexibility and the ability to work irregular hours, and may include, from time to time, domestic and international travel.


Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Support:
  • Respond promptly and effectively to customer inquiries, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Safety Management Assistance:
  • Assist the Senior Safety Manager, Yachts in overseeing the overall compliance of the fleet to mitigate risks and ensure safety.
  • Support in overseeing and processing invoices and cost proposals from inspectors, maintaining budgetary controls.
  • Support daily operational management, ensuring all safety management protocols and standards are consistently met.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of inspection reports for yachts, identifying compliance issues and corrective actions.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the Oracle Compliance platform, ensuring all data and processes are up-to-date.
  • Provide periodic overviews of yacht fleet performance, including compliance status reports to the Senior Safety Manager.
  • Technical Support and Process Handling:
  • Handle and process technical inquiries and assignments efficiently, providing accurate information and guidance.
  • Professional Development:
  • Actively participate in seminars, conferences, and training sessions to stay informed of the latest safety and compliance standards.
  • Travel and Flexibility:
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally and work irregular hours as required by the operational demands.
  • Additional Duties:
  • Perform all other related and incidental duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the company's overall success.


Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant maritime field such as deck officer, engineer or dual qualifications; preferably knowledge and understanding of yachting;
  • At least two years of active experience in maritime safety, compliance, or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance standards in the maritime industry;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • being able to keep a good overview without losing sight of the detail;
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to flexible working hours.
