Title **Bartender**
Position Bartender Location C&P PARX Description **Position Summary**
Responsibly serves beverages in moderate amounts, not to promote overindulgence or advocate any action that could cause Guests to become intoxicated. Also takes Guest orders, delivers food and maintains the bar seating area by bussing and cleaning. Additionally a bartender is responsible for the billing and payment processing of the Guests they serve.

**Job Tasks**
* Greet Guests in a friendly professional manner
* Provide education about Chickie's style of service, the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods
* Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all times
* Follow all Chickie's & Pete's service standards including up-selling and suggestive selling
* Inform Guests of daily drink & food specials
* Prepare garnishes for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
* Wash and sterilize glassware
* Receive and serve food orders to Guests seated at the bar
* Check food and beverages for quality and presentation before serving to Guests
* Check identification to ensure that Guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
* Recognize signs of intoxication and handle alcohol-related situations effectively; keep manager informed when situations arise regarding intoxicated Guests/refusal of service
* Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
* Receive Guest payments and process transactions
* Respond appropriately to Guest complaints and bring any issues to the attention of a manager
* Perform marketing and other promotional services as needed
* Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar: counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
* Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to Bar Manager
* Assist with restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
* Thank Guests for their visit, inform them of upcoming events and invite them to return
* Understand the importance of speed of service and act with sense of urgency when performing job tasks
* Attend all scheduled employee meetings
* Empty trash cans
* Additional items as assigned

**Guest Service**
**M**ust **consistently be able to** assess, anticipate and meet **Guests needs and respond quickly without losing focus or projecting a mood that detracts from the Guests overall experience.**
**Communication**
**Must clearly communicate in a professional manner with Guests, vendors, coworkers and management. They must understand instructions, read written company memorandums and communicate when he or she needs more direction or training.**
**Interpersonal Relationships**
Must adapt to different personalities of Guests and coworkers without losing focus.
**Teamwork**
Working together as a team is a critical success factor of any restaurant. Establishing good working relationships is key to maintaining a team-oriented work environment.
**Sales Techniques and Guest Influence**
**Must** understand all Chickies & Petes products and services as well as have the ability to understand Guests needs clearly. Must gain **experience and become current in state-of-the-art sales methods.**
**Performing General Physical Activities**
Must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
**Problem Solving and Conflict Management**
Must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgement, tact and initiative according to company policy and procedure. In situations where you are unsure of what to do, always get your manager involved.
**Analytical Skills:** General accounting and mathematical skills required along with point of sale application knowledge. **Must use logic and reasoning to identify solutions and alternatives for a successful outcome to problems.**
**Technical Skills**
Must correctly operate various mechanical devices such as POS systems, credit card machines and mixers.
**Quality Control and Priority Assessment**
Must e**valuate current practices and processes;** immediately recognize potential areas of conflict; and initiate ways to improve current business methods, **quality of products and services provided to the Guests**.
**Language Skills**
**Must speak and write with excellent command of the English language including proper spelling and grammar.**
**Flexibility**
Occasionally works overtime and assists with the workload of others if needed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
